Announcing Cloud Academy
Sunday, September 23, 2012 Cloud Strategy Generation (CSG) - (A project of in-school.com inc) announces the formation of Cloud Academy. Cloud Academy offers courseware in technology and business aspects of Cloud Computing. Cloud Academy courses are intended to prepare students for real-world, existing jobs and built by team members who have years of hands-on experience with Cloud Computing.
Cloud Academy courses will be offered directly through CSG and through partner institutes with following curriculum:
A. Cloud Computing Foundations:
This course is designed for professionals who want to understand the fundamentals of cloud computing from a business perspective. The course will start with the business definition of the cloud and its relationship to user experience. From there, we will discover how the management and administration of the cloud is different from traditional computing systems and what kind of skill set is required to administer the cloud platform. The course will also focus on establishing the cloud strategy within a business context. This will lead us to focus on governance issues and business processes; the administration of cloud services; support, monitoring, and billing; documenting a cloud strategy, which optimizes expense structure, improves security, and supports conformance; standards and protocols for the cloud; and management of devices that connect to the cloud. To understand how cloud computing is fundamentally changing business, we will look at the positive outcomes and any risks associated with the cloud (e.g., security risks). We will also focus on the mitigation of existing risks, including governance structures in IT that allow for successful cloud implementation. Our journey will help you enable cloud computing in your organization.
B. Cloud Administration:
This course covers basic system administration, providing hands-on practice on how to start and stop the VMware vSphere Client components, build your vSphere environment, monitor and manage the components, and set up roles and permissions for users and groups using the vSphere environment. This course also covers managing, creating, and configuring virtual machines in your datacenter and set up roles and permissions for users and groups using the vSphere environment.
C. Cloud Data Center Design:
This course covers implementation and management of storage and networking in a private cloud. Manage disaster recovery, improve business continuity by using multiple clusters. Learn how to secure VSphere environment.
D. Cloud Architecture:
This course covers how to design a conceptual, logical and physical design or a given set of requirements. Additionally, it looks at availability and security requirements for designing a cloud or a cluster of clouds. It also cover techniques for creating a extensible cloud structure, managing metered clouds and compliance.
